"I went to see Dhayang Toon for a Rolfing session after being introduced to him by a fellow rolfer, Amy Tan. I injured my left shoulder a year or so ago and although the muscle healed well, I did not have full range of motion in the shoulder. This restricted the kind of exercises I could do in the gym as well as which positions I could sleep in. It also meant that I was aware of a tightness in my shoulder all the time.

"I decided to give Rolfing a try to address my “limp” while running – I had no pain, no injury and all the scans indicated there were no injuries, tears, fractures etc; in fact my doctor commented that my muscles look good. It was indeed baffling but I think even more astonishing was that Dhayang has been able to help me free restrictions, tightness on some of my did-not-realize-problem areas (back, chest, neck) in 1-2 focused sessions. "I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism in Dec 2016. I have read about the relationship of this illness with emotional well being and lung capacity on breathing. I came to know Rolfing through a shop advertisement and later contacted Dhayang.
I immediately signed up for 10 sessions after my 1st session, as the improvement and changes can be felt immediately. Throughout these 10 sessions, besides better posture from my spine and footing, one of the most prominent change after rolfing is my breathing capacity and how each of my ribs are now moving when I breathe.
Before rolfing, during normal breathing, I have short breath and my lung hardly expand. Now not only my lower rib cage and diaphragm moves a lot outwardly when inhale, i can see both my lungs and my chest expand with ease.
I tested this improved breathing during my swimming sessions. Now i can swim 8-10laps without having to rest. I hope to continue this breathing advantage for my hyperthyroidism too. Im blessed to have come to dhayang."

I visited Dhayang upon a friend's recommendation and didn't know what Rolfing is about. Dhayang is very professional. He takes time to look, feel and understand where my pain was. "I have experienced many types of bodyworks in the past (raindrop therapy, reiki energy healing, sound healing, pressel massage, osteopathy, Emmett technique, physiotherapy, acupressure, tui na) before but Rolfing is simply amazing.
I can feel the energy moving when Dhayang hold the points, not where he is holding but elsewhere. When he is working on my legs for example, I could feel my nose is clearing or a gushing water flowing thru my eyes and cheeks, tingling in my elbow and 4th & 5th finger. I think Dhayang is a gifted healer because, he would hold until the points where the gushing flow finished then only move on to another point. I know it's finished flowing because I can feel it, it seems that he felt it too.
I look forward to my sessions because I can't wait for my body to tell me about my own body (if you know what I mean). Today I learnt that, if Dhayang hold those points if I feel anything (gushing water, tingling, pain, stuck) in other parts of my body, it means there is weakness or tightness in that area. Left and right side of the body, same holding points but different sensation at different parts of the body is experienced. Rolfing is unbelievable. "

"It was my lack of flexibility that brought me to Dhayang in September 2016. I was fit and strong yet I had rigidity and stiffness especially in my back, shoulders and hips. My initial aim was purely to gain fluidity and lightness. What Rolfing would do and how it would help me, I honestly had no idea. The good things I heard about it were from my readings and a friend who had sought Dhayang’s help a few years earlier. I decided to give it go but I wasn’t sure if it would “jive” with me.
So here’s what happened at the first session: My body was so surprised to feel a burst of change that it urged me to come back for more, hence my signing up for the package of 10. My banker’s brain meanwhile ran a mental cost-benefit analysis and, weighed the pros and cons, and its response was the opposite of my body’s but I ignored its pleas to just walk away and not return!
I went to see Dhayang over a period of four months for the ten sessions. What I found impressive is how Rolfing affected me emotionally (although its physical benefits are evident too). I started off with issues that, I thought, were purely physical yet what I found at the end was a (much, much) relaxed, gentler and “softer” me. My breathing too became deeper and slower. I suppose this is the fluidity and lightness I was looking for. It’s much less about being able to do front/ side splits, or back bends, or headstands, and much more about the calm within which Dhayang helped me gain."
